Case Study: Consolidating Multiple Websites Into One

When I posed the question “Do You Want to Consolidate Multiple Websites?”, I didn’t expect such clear lines to be drawn between people who strongly believe in maintaining separate niche sites and those who themselves are dealing with whether or not to combine WordPress blogs into one main site. While everyone wasn’t in total agreement, most everyone agreed that there can be situations where consolidation is the best route to go.

Was my post controversial? Yes. Not everyone agreed with our strategy. Some readers felt that clearly defined niche sites are the route to go. Other readers were considering the same strategy. The thing is that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all strategy for deciding if you need one website or multiple sites. This week, let’s take a closer look at the thought process behind the decision to merging multiple blogs into a new cohesive brand.

Will Building Your Blog Community Make You a Superstar? #FridayFinds

When I first started blogging, (back in 2010), I struggled to get anyone to visit my blog – let alone comment.  That’s a common problem and one that many (if not most) bloggers struggle with. I finally turned the corner and started building a solid following after implementing what I always refer to as my “Stalking the Popular Kids” strategy. It was effective for me then and still is now.

This week, in my #FridayFinds series, lets take a look at how two bloggers (both have been blogging since 2009) are building blog communities that are driving traffic to their sites and engaging in comments! Meet Jackson Nwachukwu who recently launched his latest blog, WorthBlogger.com and Adrienne Smith who is launching her new course “Build A Blog Community”. I’m sure you’ll be able to learn something from both of them. (I know I have.)

Once upon a time, all that a business had to do was to produce. Customers were called “consumers” then. Today, that term just won’t apply. No one consumes anything. Before customers patronize, they wield a huge list of expectations that businesses have to match up to.

This is not another website hosting review. If you’re interested in a review of GoDaddy, I suggest reading this GoDaddy Review. What I want to share with you today is this great infographic of 5 reasons that you should not use GoDaddy for hosting (which I found on Tom Jamieson‘s blog). How Do You Avoid Keyword Stuffing on Your Website Blog?

Share Button

According to Google Webmaster Tools, keyword stuffing is defined as “the practice of loading a webpage with keywords or numbers in an attempt to manipulate a site’s ranking in Google search results”. Tips for Bloggers | Before You Press that Publish Button

After you’ve written that amazing content and before you press that “publish” button, every blogger should take a quick assessment of their post and be certain that it’s ready to go. What do I mean by ready to go? I’m referring to tweaking your article for the search engines (things like filling out meta tag data and making sure that any special characters like apostrophes and question marks don’t appear in the URL). I’m also talking about not uploading images that are worthy of printing and framing but instead have been formatted to display efficiently on a computer monitor.
